Fact of the day: It was on this day in 1940 that Edwin Armstrong first demonstrated to the FCC in the USA his revolutionary idea for using wideband FM. This ultimately lead to the introduction high quality FM broadcasting, although Armstrong had to fund the first station himself.

Point to ponder: The Eiffel Tower in Paris is 320.755 metres (1052 feet) high, including the television antennas, and it contains 2 500 000 rivets and contains 18 038 metal pieces.
