Connectivity in both wired and wireless forms is part of everyday life. From wired and fibre broadband to mobile communications - 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and many other wireless technologies through to standards like Ethernet, USB and many others. Wi-Fi is particularly important as demonstrated by the number of Wi-Fi routers, Wi-Fi repeaters and the like that are available for sale.

Mobile phone or cellphone technology has been with us for well over 40 years and it has now become an essential part of everyday life

Fortunately, the same standards are now used around the world and this enables aspects like roaming, as well as the economies of scale to be gained

However in the early days of mobile communications technology, this was not the case. However as 2G progressed to 3G and then 4G, 5G and then 6G, the standards ahve developed to provide ever greater speeds and ever more capabilities, although one of the main challenges is to provide good coverage and not have calls continually dropping out when on the move.
