Fact of the day: It was on this day in 1876 that Alexander Graham Bell sent the famous first words over his telephone system saying: "Mr Watson, come here. I want you." Also on this day, but in 1891 an undertaker by the name of Almon Strowger patented a device later known as the Stowger switch that led to the automation of telephone circuit switching.
