Fact of the day: It was on 24th June 1981 that the Humber Bridge was opened in England connecting Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. It remained the World\'s longest suspension bridge for 17 years.

Point to ponder: Sputnik, the first man made satellite to be launched into orbit around the earth was shaped like a sphere and had four radiating radio antennas.It functioned for 21 days sending out a distinctive "beep beep" signal from its on board transmitter.
