Fact of the day: It was on this day in 1802 that Sir Charles Wheatstone, pioneer of the electric telegraph was born in Gloucester, UK. Then in 1959 Jack Kilby\'s patent for an integrated circuit was filed in the USA - along with Robert Noyce\'s ideas and patent this set the foundations in place for today\'s highly integrated electronics era.

Quote: Engineering is one of the few ways in which human talent can be given the chance to improve, and frequently to transform, the comfort and prosperity of the human community. HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (1921-2021)

Point to ponder: A single typical lightning bolt releases about the same energy as blowing up a ton of TNT explosive.
